Something to be proud of.....

I've been meaning to share this story with all of you b/c I think it's one worth sharing about my little Emma. The other day, we all went to McDonald's. Well, right now the toys in the happy meals are Littlest Pet Shop theme, if you have girls then you probably know all about these. Well, that just so happens to be one of Emma's favorite toys so she was very excited to get one in her happy meal. Well, we sit down in the playground area to eat and there's only one other child playing. Just so happens, she got the same toy in her happy meal. (There were several different animals in the Littlest Pet Shop theme to choose from, they got the same one). Well, she was already playing and kept coming towards our table saying things like "I get to play first, I don't have to eat first, I get to play and then eat", you know.... things like that. Inside, I'm thinking "Good for you, now go play and let my child eat :)" I've learned that it helps to ensure a good lunch is eaten if Emma plays AFTER her meal........playtime is good incentive.
The toy that Emma got, I think was actually a mouse or hamster but Emma kept calling it a puffin. She's already got a similar one at home that she's had since she was two and she's always called it a puffin for some reason. Emma tries to open up the package and can't, so she asks me to help her. The little girl says, "I opened mine all by myself, I'm big. Big kids can open theirs all by themselves." She looked to be about a year older than Emma. Well, she shows Emma that she has the same toy (while Emma's still eating), and she says it's a squirrel. Emma says, "No, it's not. It's a puffin." And they go back and forth, "no it isn't, yes it is" a couple of times. Under my breath, I just tell Emma not to worry about it, to just finish up her lunch so she could play. Emma kept eating and the little girl kept saying, "It's a squirrel, It's a squirrel, squirrel, squirrel." Then she starts singing it. I was getting a little aggravated, I was going to completely understand if Emma did! But, Emma's wheels start spinning, and she just looks up at the girl and says, "It's a squirrel to you, but it's a puffin to me." The girls says, "It's a squirrel." Emma says, "It's a squirrel to you, but it's a puffin to me." And that's all it took. The little girl stopped, Emma finished her lunch and then they played together. The puffin squirrel was never brought up again!
I'm proud of my little Emma! I thought she handled it very well.

Bama Fan?

This has been locked in the Mason vault for the last several months. Last Halloween, mom and the ladies she works with all dressed up like rednecks. Mom was a bama redneck. No offense to all you bama fans out there. This is all in fun! Although, mom does make a good bama fan! Just kidding! I finally got permission to share it with all of you! I just love my mom, what a character! Emma loves these videos, she likes to reenact them herself!

Just Two Hugs

I am with the girls at my mom and dad's for the next several days while Mike is on a mission trip to Slovakia. I'm sure most of you know how exhausting it is travelling with little ones. Well, the girls have fared well. We've gone from our house to Mississippi and visited family there, now we're "staying put" for a while at mom and dad's. We had such a great visit with the Miss. family.
Well, all three of us have been kind of sniffy the last few days. Allergies, I guess. Although, Lili's is probably just a little cold. But anyway, last night Emma was starting to cough after she had fallen asleep. So I walked in there and offered her water. Well, it's very difficult to get Emma to take anything after she's fallen asleep whether its medicine or whatever. So....I anticipated that I was probably gonna get a big refusal from her instead i got her looking up at me with those dreamy little eyes in her sweetest little sleepy voice, "No, just two hugs." So, that's what she got. And no more coughing after that! :)

Precious Faces....

Today, Emma got to play with shaving cream in the bath tub, as you can see she had alot of fun with it! Her entire upper half was completely covered. So so cute.....

Lili's enjoying her cereal meals. Today I added some apple sauce in for the first time. She really liked it.
I sure do have some precious little girls. I'm so thankful for every day I have with them.........

What a little sport.......

Lili's such a good sport, putting up with big sister's "big" love.........

Getting Ready

Mike and I are both packing up this week, but we're heading in different directions. He's headed to Slovakia and I'm headed to south Alabama! He'll be joining our church on a mission trip to teach Slovak youth English. He'll be gone for 2 weeks, so we're movin' in with mom and dad! Please keep Mike and our crew in your prayers, it'll be tough without dad around, we'll miss him tons but we know he's going to be right where God wants him! He went there last year and was blessed so much by all the friendships made. I know he's so excited about going back. It's a busy week around here though, lots and lots of packing to do! I'll be posting pics from mom and dads next week. I'm really looking forward to our long visit :)

Learning To Read

Yes! Lili's learning to read! Emma really enjoyed the pictures and colors in this little book when she was a baby, so I held on to it. Now Lili's enjoying it too. And don't worry about Lili being up on the table in her bumbo......mommy was there the whole time :)

She Did It!

Lili rolled over! When she didn't wake up at her usual time (7:30), I thought I'd check on her around 9, and this is what I found :) She was just looking up at the ceiling sucking her finger. How sweet!
