Lilian's Shower

My dear friend, Laura Lynn hosted a baby shower for me on Saturday. Everything was so pretty and the food was delicious! I had a great time visiting with friends and family that I haven't seen in a long time!

I just loved this cake! It tasted just as good as it looks :)

A very PREGNANT me and Laura Lynn!

A belly shot for those of you who are interested! Me at 36 weeks!

Grandma Funke crocheted this beautiful sweater for Lili! I almost cried when I saw it. That really meant so much to me.

Lili's bib from Laura Lynn and her family.

Pacifier mints! These were a hit!

The three preggers! Me at 36 weeks, Amanda at about 21 weeks, and Christie at 14 weeks!

My Precious Girl

Well, we are on the road to transition around here.......and all that makes me really think what a blessing the past 3 1/2 to 4 years have been. God has already used Emma so much to teach Mike and I some very valuable life lessons. Lessons that I think we would've only learned from having her. She has been a precious gift in our lives and we are so excited to see her growing up into the big girl she is so "proud" of becoming.

The past few weeks, we've been going back through all of Emma's baby videos and it has been so sweet to watch her grow into the sweet little person she is. All the little things that make her unique, like her little squeaky voice, the way she loves to sing while she plays (whether it's Sunday School songs or songs she's made up), her love for animals (especially monkeys, pandas, and reindeer), and just the ways she shows us love.

She spent the night with Papa and Mimi last night, so this morning I woke up, had my coffee, and had some time to just sit back, and reflect on what a precious gift we have from the Lord. Sometimes, I get so caught up in the day to day stuff, this morning has been quite a breath of fresh air, just being able to thank the Lord for what he has done in our lives through this little girl that is so precious to me.

Here is a picture of Emma's first attempt at writing her name all by herself! She has traced her name a couple of times, but other than that she's never written her name. A few days ago I sat this workbook in front of her and this is what she did with absolutely no help from mom!

Winter Weather

We've had some pretty cold winter weather around here. The other day we even had some snow flurries. Although, there was no accumulation, Emma had a blast running around in the flurries. You can see a little in her hair.

All the world's a stage! Emma loves to play pretend with all of her animals. Most of the time though, they are putting on a "Broadway" production! She loves to sing and make up songs as she plays with them, much like me when I was a kid! Maybe she'll at least be able to carry a tune :)

Ahhhh, relaxing!

Yesterday evening, Mike treated Emma and I to pedicures! He takes such good care of his girls!

Just Checking In!

Well, we've been pretty busy around here preparing for Lilian's arrival on Feb. 22nd. Emma's been a huge help in getting her room ready. She's had alot of fun helping put the crib together and going through all of the baby clothes we pulled down that we had saved from when Emma was a baby. She's been dressing up her stuffed animals in them and giving them bottles. She's getting some good practice! These are just a few pics of when we first started working on the nursery. Emma really had a good time helping her daddy!

Christmas Eve!

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas! It was so nice to be with my family, mom always has the prettiest decorations and everything smells so Christmas-y. Some of my fondest memories as a child was knowing that Santa was going to come visit me at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's, and that tradition has passed on to Emma now. Santa came to deliver Emma's toys under Nanny and PawPaw's tree this year! But we had our own special Christmas gift opening on Christmas Eve night.

Some pics of Emma with nanny's pretty tree.

Every now and then, I'll let Emma watch SpngeBob, I'm not a huge fan. But she was really excited to get some SpongeBob bubble bath from Nanny and PawPaw!

I just thought this pic was so funny, b/c we are BOTH so excited about Emma's gift!

I gave Emma some lip gloss for Christmas, lately she has been wanting to use mine whenever we are getting ready to go somewhere. So, I thought she'd be excited to have her very own, and let me tell you......SHE WAS! Can you see her sparkly lips?

Nanny was so excited about her Emma calendar! The grandparents have all gotten one each year.

Emma even got to open some of Lilian's gifts, here are a beautiful pair of crocheted booties and dress for her first Easter!

As much as Emma loves to take pics with our digital camera, we thought she'd like having her own, so Nanny and PawPaw got her this awesome "kid proof" digital camera!

Our friends, Mark, Laura Lynn, and Maggie gave Emma some "magic" reindeer food. The sparkles in it helped light up the lawn so Rudolph would know where to land. It was so cute!

She found the perfect spot for it! Okay Santa, we're ready when you are!

Santa Claus Came to Nanny and PawPaw's!

Emma woke up bright and early to see what Santa had left her under the tree!

A bicycle with a helmet and pads to match! He also snacked on the cookies she left out for him!

Trying out her new bicycle in Nanny and PawPaw's house! Thank goodness for hardwood floors, it was way too cold and too rainy to take the bike out that morning :(

A "big girl" backpack! No more diaper bags for mommy....at least for a month or two!

Having more fun on her Dora bike!

After Christmas, Nanny came up and helped us get the room ready for Lilian. Emma loved helping!

Don't be fooled, mom's standing right behind her! She wanted to try rolling on her own :)

Helping daddy with the curtains!
